The weekend before I left for the holidays I was honored and happy to be a part of Tina & Mike's wedding. They contacted me just two days before and lucky for BOTH of us I was available.
I have to say that it was a little different for me. Most of the time I have the chance to meet, and at the very least chat, with the couple several times before their wedding... not this time... in fact I didn't even hear Tina's voice until we met face to face. Poor thing... had laryngitis, and planned her entire wedding in just a week.
Tina and Mike, along with 4 of their friends, were so much fun... and so laid back. The whole wedding was absolutely perfect and beautiful. We started at the Biltmore Four Seasons (where they were spending the weekend) and did a photo shoot on the beach. We then went to the San Ysidro Ranch for a few more gorgeous pictures at sunset. Then there was a small private ceremony in front of the fireplace followed by dinner in a private garden side room.
All and all it was incredibly touching, warm and funny.
Tina & Mike, it was such a pleasure to meet you and your friends. I hope that the next chapter of your lives are as beautiful as your wedding. I hope that our paths may cross again.

Okay... again .. these are a bit behind... obviously I am playing blog catchup right now... October (and November) totally slipped away from me... but here I am .. blogging away.. just pretend that instead of snow (for you Midwesterners) and 55 degrees (for you Californians) . . that's its Fall and the leaves are just changing...
So now that we are well placed in middle of October.... imagine a weekend off... okya maybe not... instead... I had not 1 ... not 2 ... but THREE last minute Mackinac Island elopements.... how fun is that!! All three with completely different stories... styles... and visions...
Take a look....
First we have Chrystal & Jack... who couldn't keep their hands off each other... so romantic... so fun... and so enjoying the moment... after a incredibly touching service at the Grand Hotel all they wanted to do was walk around the island... eat fudge... take pictures... and capture their TFK (their own special "Tender Face Kiss")...
Next we have Tori & Bill... this adorable couple are from Louisiana... had never been to Mackinac in their lives... they just wanted to go to an island somewhere... and do something unique... and luckily... they absolutely LOVED it... I kept running into them all over the island days after they were married. Every time doing a new thing... seeing a new sight... and constantly smiling!! I'd like to say it was the island that made them smile but really... I think it was each other... just look at the way they look at each other...
Lastly... we have Ivy & Kenny... these two have quite a story... Kenny is a fisherman on a boat so he travels all the time while Ivy lives in Michigan. They had a wedding planned in the Caribbean... but with passport issues it was going to have to be postponed... and so instead of waiting any longer to tie the knot Ivy contacted Carole Erbel of For The Love of Mackinac and together they created a beautiful wedding at the Iroquois Hotel in less then a week days before the island was closing for the season. Finally Ivy and Kenny are a family!!
If your thinking of Eloping... Mackinac is a great place to do it... its a gorgeous island in our backyard... no passports needed... yet its a whole different world!!
Only about 3 more blogs and I should be all caught up..

It's that time of year again... time for my favorite wedding event... one can't even call it an expo... its a time for anyone even slightly interested in getting married on Mackinac to come explore everything the island has to offer... from one on one tours of the different venues ... to meeting all of us fun event professionals... to pub crawls... live music... champagne toasts... and DJ's mashin' in up ... there are a variety of events everyday ... so its impossible to be bored!! I'm telling you there is not one bit of annoying pushy people.. loud overhead speakers announcing horrible raffle items... anywhere to be found!
Come see me at the HARBOUR VIEW INN SATURDAY from 3:00 -5:00...
Hope to see you!
Safe travels to all those on their way!
Love,

All I have to say is WOW... again...
Here is just a sneak peak from today's wedding... there will be tons more for me to say later but for now... it's 4 am.. .the celebration is still going on outside my window but I couldn't help but stay up and write something... the "official" evening ended with Marlon a DJ from LA born in Trinidad to take the stage for a final set... one of the last songs was "Everyday People".. this was perfect.. .as I looked around the room and saw how many people, from so many countries.. together on a dance floor.. .being.. just "everyday people"... having fun.. celebrating life and love (we really are all the same, care about the same things, love the same way)
At one point a guest stood up at the wedding and made a toast... what he said really struck home for me.. "Amana.. .Johan... you are truly a New World Couple"... this brought tears to my eyes as I could see how many people had traveled, were living, and were from so many places all over the world. .... 16 countries to be exact (and there were only about 70 people total).
With all the differences between us... its amazing how easy it is to connect and relate and you hardly have to try...
Here are a couple pics.. .so you don't have to just hear me babble this late at night...
May you all experience moments that make you notice how alike all of us in the world really are!
