Welcome to the photo blog... *finallogowhite25.jpg
Here's where I chat about photography (SURPRISE)...  weddings (of course)... helpful ideas I hear about...  and cool things I find along the way.

Things you can expect from me...
Laughter (I write how I talk if you haven't noticed.. :)
Advice (I don't claim to be an expert...but I do claim to hear expert ideas and share them)
    Stories (but only good ones)
Contests (gotta keep you guessing somehow..)
Cheers (meaning good wishes to good people I meet)
... and a little bit bit of babbling (but hopefully always ending with a big laugh)

While this blog may not be perfect in color, shape, or words . . . I promise, it'll all be written from the heart! More than anything else... I hope that you have fun, get inspired, enjoy reading and maybe even gain a little knowledge along the way (that I'm not promising though)...

I'm so glad you've somehow navigated your way here.  Now... don't forget to bookmark it..  and come back and visit again!!

Love,
A

While I was home for the holidays  I had the chance to photograph a friend from college and her family. I hadn't seen Kendra in probably ten years.  It was so much fun to reconnect, get to photograph her family and play with Cole (come on how adorable is this little one...  and who doesn't love Lincoln Logs!!

As usual my normal portrait shoot can't just be standing around... there has to be a little fun..it's not surprise that after I forced the Bondie's to stand outside in the freezing cold... it was only a matter of time before snowballs started flying!!

Living in CA, I don't get to see.. .participate.. or photograph snowball fights very often...  this was especially fun...  so my camera was in the cross fire ... TOTALLY worth it!!

Thanks for the fun afternoon .. .and  break from the drive home!

Love,
A

The weekend before I left for the holidays I was honored and happy to be a part of Tina & Mike's wedding.  They contacted me just two days before and lucky for BOTH of us I was available.

I have to say that it was a little different for me. Most of the time I have the chance to meet, and at the very least chat, with the couple several times before their wedding... not this time... in fact I didn't even hear Tina's voice until we met face to face.  Poor thing... had laryngitis, and planned her entire wedding in just a week.

Tina and Mike, along with 4 of their friends, were so much fun... and so laid back. The whole wedding was absolutely perfect and beautiful. We started at the Biltmore Four Seasons (where they were spending the weekend) and did a photo shoot on the beach. We then went to the San Ysidro Ranch for a few more gorgeous pictures at sunset.  Then there was a small private ceremony in front of the fireplace followed by dinner in a private garden side room.

All and all it was incredibly touching, warm and funny.

Tina & Mike, it was such a pleasure to meet you and your friends.  I hope that the next chapter of your lives are as beautiful as your wedding.  I hope that our paths may cross again.

Love,
A

January 7, 2011 // My Life
I just wanted to write a quick little note of how wonderful it was to come home last night to a pile of holiday cards...  Every year I am surprised by these little gestures that mean so much.  During a time when life is running circles around many of us... to be thought of and remembered by friends and family always means so much.

I know for me, making the list, picking/designing the card... and the toughest for me... Post office... stamps... and getting the addresses right...  the other thing I came home to was a pile of RETURNED holiday cards that I attempted to send...  ughhh... guess they will be Chinese New Years cards...

smIMG_1172.jpg

Anyways... a big THANK YOU... to all of those who sent me cards... and all of those who sent me cards that had them returned... (as I realize some of you have 7 different addresses for me)...

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday... and are enjoying the freshness and excitement of the new year.  (I am doing this... by sleeping in my own bed ... as I'm finally home after 3.5 weeks of couch surfing)... I get a whole month before I do it again...

Happy January 7th!

January 1, 2011 //
Happy New Year everyone....

I'll  be honest New Years Eve is NOT one of my favorite days...  another year gone... where am I... what have I accomplished...  what mistakes did I make... blah blah blah...

BUT...  New Years Day... is one of my favorites... a new year full of promise and excitement...  anything can happen.. everything is fresh and new...  yippeee for today!!

Although there isn't any snow on the island right now... yesterday was beautiful... the fog was so thick you couldn't see the boats... just hear them as they broke through the floating ice...

Have I said this before???... I love the island in the winter!!

May you all have an amazing day...  full of love, laughter and promise for 2011!!

Here I am at 12:40 a.m.  on the 26th of December...  finally blogging a little Christmas spirit... I've just been too busy having fun on the winter wonderland that is Mackinac... and playing with the family in Cleveland... which included me kicking some "Michael Jackson Experience" butt on the wii...  finally a game I can play... dancing... music... and great 80's/90's music... perfect!!

So here are a few pics from the island last week.. and a couple from my crazy awesome family Christmas...

What happens when you put 40 Slovenian and Polish peeps in a room  ...

lots of klebasa and kielbasa (yes there is a difference.. .Slovenian Klebasa. is WAY better)
lots of laughter...
and the best part... a cut throat secret Santa gift exchange...  this year was especially  controversial...  who would have thought a Blender could cause such  a stir... hahaha .. get my pun...

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season.. no matter what it is you celebrate... may it be full of love, joy, laughter...  and a little bit of mischief too!
